The band play traditional and contemporary music &nbsp;on guitar, bass, fiddle, mandolin, banjo and vocals.&nbsp; All band members are highly experienced players, who are Scottish-based, but perform throughout the UK and Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ian has won various singing awards and in 2013 reached the semi-final of the International Songwriters\u2019 Competition in Nashville.&nbsp; When we say Louise is an \u2018outstanding singer,\u2019 we are not exaggerating!&nbsp; One English folk club organiser claimed she has the finest voice in the current English folk scene. &nbsp;No wonder she won the Great British Folk Festival\u2019s Introducing Stage Audience Award in January 2023 &nbsp;Her voice has been compared with the great Joan Baez and the late Julie Felix.&nbsp; Excellent vocalist Eilidh Grant is joined by superb fiddler Fiona Cuthill and multi-instrumentalist musician Stevie Lawrence on acoustic guitar and bouzouki. &nbsp;Together they bring a wide range of musical influences to create their unique sound which is both traditional and contemporary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All band members have appeared at Craigie before with different groups, including the Wendy Weatherby Band Celtic Quines and Real Time. &nbsp;Stevie was for a time a member of the internationally renowned Red Hot Chilli Pipers.&nbsp; Together with his wife Pernile, the result is a duo with wonderful harmony singing. She runs two Edinburgh-based choirs, is involved with Music in Hospitals, provides cello on numerous recordings, works in theatre, does corporate events, as well as performing with her band at folk music clubs and festivals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The other three band members are hugely experienced and well known musicians in their own right.&nbsp; John plays a number of instruments, including Fiddle, Mandolin and Guitar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jim\u2019s introduction to folk music was in the Edinburgh folk scene in the sixties, branching out to rock music in the 80\u2019s and 90\u2019s, before returning to his folk music roots.&nbsp; He is now joined by his wife Susie, a fine traditional singer in her own right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jim has performed extensively in the UK, Europe and North America.&nbsp; This includes every state in America except four, including states as far apart as Alaska and Hawaii.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jim is a particularly fine interpreter of the songs of Robert Burns, often singing lesser-known songs of the Bard. &nbsp;He also performs his own compositions. &nbsp;Both Susie and Jim have fine voices, accompanied by meticulous guitar and harmonica playing. &nbsp;Together they offer great harmonies and humour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be two support acts.&nbsp;
